Tourist Looking at San Francisco Peaks Through Window, Meteor Crater, ArizonaPhoto ID# RW1417 Click here to license photo for publication Interstate 40 is a popular highway for those crossing the country and for fans of the Old Route 66. One of the most well-known meteor impact sites in the United States is located here not too far from Flagstaff, Arizona. It is privately-owned however and quite expensive for admission. Not offering much bang for the buck, this photo represents the commercialization of scenic America. Here the tourist is looking outside of a outdoor, brick wall window to a view of the San Francisco Peaks. The actual functional purpose of the wall remains a mystery much like the Meteor Crater itself. |
