Located in Western Riverside County, the San Jacinto Wildlife Area has 9,000 acres of restored wetlands. It is the first state wildlife area to use reclaimed water to enhance it's wetlands. The site is a popular place for migratory birds in the winter as Southern California consists of arid desert that does not have many natural watering holes for wildlife.

Looming over the San Jacinto Valley at 10,834 feet above sea level, Mount San Jacinto is the second highest mountain range in Southern California. The mountain is perhaps best known for being the site of the Aerial Tramway in Palm Springs.
