Pioneertown was originally created as a movie set in 1946 for westerns starring such actors as Gene Autry. Roy Rogers was among the original investors of Pioneertown. Today, merchants occupy the stores and tourists are free to tour Mane Street which resembles a ghost town from the Wild West.
