Major League Baseball's first black athlete and Pasadena native son, Jackie Robinson's memorial statue along with his brother Mack, faces the domed Baroque Italian Renaissance architecture-styled Pasadena City Hall from directly across Garfield Avenue. City Hall has been under a major seismic retrofitting renovation for the past three years and only recently opened back to the public on a limited basis.
