Location in the heart of San Francisco's Marina District, The Palace of Fine Arts was built for the 1915 Panama Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco. It was designed loosely in the architectural style of American Beaux Arts by local architecture, Bernard Maybeck. The exterior of the building features numerous Greco-Roman corinthian columns. Today, the Palace of Fine Arts houses the Exploratorium interactive science museum.
