Art Galleries at the Huntington

Surprisingly, I had never been inside any of the art galleries at the Huntington prior to this aside from the Huntington Library. My mom never took us inside the art galleries when I was growing up so I’d always assumed it was just the library and the botanical gardens. I didn’t realize the other buildings were open to the public until I was browsing their website a few months ago.
The art collections are quite impressive and the galleries that house the art are a work of art in their own right. In particular, I recommend visiting The Boone Gallery which currently has an exhibit by John Frame, titled, “Three Fragments of a Lost Tale.” There is a mix of sculptures and photography set in a very dark gallery setting with a beautiful film at the end. You can’t take pictures in this gallery but this is a very somber yet powerful exhibit. I’m not a huge art fanatic but I might have to go back and see it again. The exhibit runs through June 20th so there’s still time.

Glad you finally made it inside the galleries…and consequently opened it to us, too. Thanks!
