The Canon 35mm f2.0 lens is going to be my new walk-around lens for travel and photojournalism photo shoots on the 5D MKII. The 24-70mm has fantastic image quality but it is so bulky that it isn’t fun to use unless I’m doing nature photography on a tripod. Plus, when you shoot candid photography, you want to blend into a scene which that big lens makes it way too obvious that you are there. I really like the vignette when shooting with this lens wide open though I hardly ever shoot wide open in real-world shooting situations. I have always used zoom lenses in the past but only use one focal length so switching to a prime lens makes no difference to me.

This little lens is a real favorite of mine on full frame bodies. I’m not sure what I like best about it: the fine optical performance, the small size, or the quizzical looks on the faces of Big Lens Photographers when they see in on my camera! ;-)

Good to know that I’m not alone in thinking that, Dan. The lens is so cute looking. :-)
