Cleveland Dam

Cleveland Dam, Capilano River Regional Park, North Vancouver, B.C.
Cleveland Dam has some very beautiful scenery. Unfortunately it was also where we had the worst experience on the entire trip. Many of the people there after dinner were a bunch of misfits running around doing whatever the heck they want. Like this “dynamic duo” who kept throwing large objects over the dam down to the bottom laughing the entire time from large plastic devices to large boulders. Have a little respect for your own drinking water people! These clowns were standing just a few feet away from us with no shame whatsoever. There were also a lot of family and people walking their pets for exercise here not causing any trouble. I don’t think they approved of those people’s behavior either. My mom was getting uncomfortable with the whole situation so we just went back to the lake on the other side.
As soon as we got back over by the lake side, there was a gang of drug-addicted thugs on the benches talking about smoking dope and wondering out loud how much my camera equipment cost. That really ticked me off. What is wrong with these people in North Vancouver?!? Get a job if you need some money! I have sold a lot of pictures to pay for my equipment. I ended up just took a few photos and called it a night after that. It was no fun at all.
Cleveland Dam really needs some police patrol at all times and I will probably not be returning there ever again which is unfortunate because I had good memories of it as a child.

That is a bummer Richard, I hate experiences like those.

Don’t let others ignorance or stupidity ruin it for you.
If I had, I would have returned home the first week in Costa Rica. Regardless of the heathens, you managed to capture an EXCELLENT SHOT! Good work and no, people don’t think what it takes to acquire what we have. Here, they think if they steal it, you can just go buy another one. Maybe CR isn’t a place you would like.

Thanks Ron and Teri.
$5,000 worth of gear doesn’t just fall out of the sky randomly so I didn’t think it was worth sticking around to see what might or might not happen.

That kind of stuff frustrates me to no end. You are tempted to call them out on their behavior that places them at the bottom of the human race, but it rarely makes any difference. They just go somewhere else and do the same thing.
Neat perspective Richard. Unfortunate for the trash, but a good stock photo of the impacts we inflict.

We have a remedy for people like that here in Southern Indiana Richard, but I will plead the 5th on this one

Considering that my tripod and camera were mistaken for a hunting rifle at Clifty Falls, I’m sure you do have a remedy, Bernie.
