I met up with Alaskan photographer Ron Niebrugge at Dana Point Harbor last month. Ron and his wife Janine spend half the year traveling in the lower 48 in their RV so he always has some interesting things to write about on his blog.

Right after I took this image, Ron hopped the fence onto this narrow ledge high above the harbor to get a closer view of the aloe vera flowers. I think I was probably more nervous for him than he was!

Great images, Richard. And Ron looks so… so… Southern Californian. :)

Thanks Gary. Ron definitely looks more native than I do!

Hey Richard, that is great! You were looking a bit more to the west then I was, and picked up more color in the sky – I like it!

LOL – I just saw Gary’s comment – I guess it didn’t take long to fit back in did it.

Thanks Ron. This was the shot when my tripod was wedged inbetween a few pieces of the chain link fence and some coastal scrub all while trying to balance myself on that stuff. Luckily it came out sharp.

Thanks Michael. Ron and I almost didn’t decide to go to this location since the sun was fading and we were set up two blocks away having never been in this area before. Good thing we decided to walk over.
