Figueroa Mountain Scenic Landscape

Figueroa Mountain Scenic Landscape, Los Padres National Forest, California
There were several raving reviews about the wildflowers at Figueroa Mountain last week so I decided to check it out for myself. I went there last year and there were poppies, carpets of lupine, bush lupine, etc… everywhere but this time there was a decent poppy display but hardly any lupine or anything else for that matter. The poppies weren’t even open despite the sunny weather perhaps because it was rather chilly out.
Figueroa Mountain has stunning scenic vistas of Santa Ynez Valley below but I wouldn’t make a trip up there solely for wildflowers at this point. There isn’t enough to warrant the drive given the high gas prices.
