I didn’t really have any clouds to work with but with a nightly show of alpenglow on Half Dome, who needs clouds? I messed up this shoot as I accidentally had the camera set on ISO 1600 until my final few frames. The file looks pretty good still at 100% though so I’m keeping it. For insurance, I went back a few days later to do similar shots but I felt it come together best during the first time around.

I like the subtle pastel color palette here. I wonder about the tilt of that meadow, not sure. I realize when you’re there it does slope downhill, but in my recollection, most photographers level it out in their photograph, or at least decrease the slope some.

Thanks for the feedback, David. I wasn’t sure what to do about the slope and when I tried that to rotate it, that made the foreground tilt. I’ll try again and review after a day away from it so I can have a fresh pair of eyes.
