Backlit Jade Ribbon Bridge in Chinese Garden at The Huntington

Backlit Jade Ribbon Bridge in Chinese Garden at The Huntington

Since I live just up the street from The Huntington and have an annual membership pass, it’s nice to be able photograph the botanical gardens in light that most tourists don’t have access to. I’ve been going during the weekend mornings a few hours before general admission opens but there are also four summer evening music events for members that stay open late enough to get warm sunset light. Though the bluegrass band sounded good there are photos to make!

My goal for several years has been to get a nice sunset photo of the Desert Garden so after the Chinese Garden I walked over there to scout some locations for a future visit in the event that I get a nice sky. I think I found the spot so I’ll be sure to set up shop there during one of the summer evening events this year.
