Abstract Expressionism Photo

I first became familiar with Jackson Pollock’s work while attending grad school in San Francisco. I didn’t think very highly of his work to say the least. Somewhere along the way, I have grown an appreciation for his art and abstract expressionism in general. What I like about it is that it’s impossible to replicate. While I certainly can’t duplicate a finely illustrated image either; I know that no one can duplicate an abstract expressionist work exactly as is. Every photographer can pull off a photo from Mather Point at the Grand Canyon or a nice shot of Yosemite’s Tunnel View but good luck copying an abstract expressionist photo.

Nice colors. I like this better than a Jackson Pollock. What do I know?

Love it Richard. I’m a great admirer of several of the abstract expressionists, and for pretty much the same reasons you stated here.

Very cool find Richard. I have been inspired by a few of Pollock’s pieces. I very much enjoy this type of art.

Thanks Mark. I like his “Blue Poles” piece in particular.
