Trees and Mirror Lake, Yosemite National Park, California

We spent our last afternoon in Yosemite at Mirror Lake and it was perhaps the perfect way to wrap up the trip. Though I had been to Mirror Lake several times in the past, this is the first time I had seen a significant amount of water there so it was nice to take in the scenery and enjoy some peace and quiet away from the weekend crowds along the main valley loop.

I have a busy schedule coming up so stay tuned for more posts in the coming weeks, which includes one of my favorite images from Yosemite.

Nice Richard. It is good to see more water in Mirror Lake – it had all but dried up the past 15 years or so. It’s also nice that they stopped running the shuttles up there – definitely adds to the peace and quiet!

Thanks Russ. There were signs there saying that Mirror Lake had been misidentified by scientists as a meadow. It definitely looks more like the classic iconic shots now.

These Yosemite images are excellent, Richard. I like how you work with color, shapes, and contrast.
