Nevada Rain Storm Photo

Rain Storm, Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, Nevada
Since my last post was about the Pasadena wind storm damage, I figured that I’d follow it up with a rain storm photo of Red Rock Canyon from last month. It obviously doesn’t rain very much in Las Vegas but somehow it has rained the last two times that I have been there. As a result, I wasn’t really able to take any of the trails at Red Rock Canyon to explore aside from the short trail at the first Calico Hills pullout. Red Rock has some great scenery and it is just right outside of Las Vegas. The proximity to Las Vegas though also means that it attracts a lot of tourists. Even on this rainy day, it was very crowded there.

The Non-Glamorous Side of Photography

Love the one point perspective, looks as if the clouds and storm and mountains are all conspiring to draw my gaze right in the center of the image.
Great capture, Richard.

Thanks Derrick.

Good one, Richard. I like the contrast between the dry foreground and the background apparently getting all wet.

Thanks David. The background was definitely wet, as it was a heavy downpour as I drove through there.
