San Francisco for New Years

Samantha with Golden Gate Bridge in Background, San Francisco, CA
Samantha and I went to San Francisco last week for New Year’s. It was an unforgettable trip for a number of reasons. Napa Valley wine tasting, good weather for SF winter standards, trying Burmese food for the first time, tasty dim sum in Chinatown, a great New Years Eve, hiking in Marin County, and meals with Bay Area photographer friends, Jim Goldstein and Gary Crabbe. And finally but most importantly, we got engaged with the Golden Gate Bridge as our backdrop! (not the above photo.)
As you would imagine, this was a bit of a different trip so I didn’t do a lot of photography but I did come away with some keepers and a brand new iPhone 5 arrived from Santa for Christmas so I spent a good amount of time experimenting with mobile photography and a number of photo apps which I’ve found to be surprisingly fun. I’ll share some more once I shake off this nagging cold I developed right after the trip.
See more of my San Francisco pictures.

Congrats on the Engagement! It’ll be interesting to see how your photography changes as you enter this next stage of life…just giving you the heads up that it will.

Thanks Greg. Not sure about change per se but I see it as an opportunity to expand my horizons. I think a few photos from my Favorites blog post hint at what type of images could be in store.
