Sierra Heritage Magazine October 2011 Cover
My photo, Owens River Sunrise, is featured on the cover of Sierra Heritage Magazine. The magazine is currently on the newsstands if you wish to check it out. It’s a great magazine that’s been around for many years.
Speaking of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, I am planning on a trip to Yosemite Valley this fall. My last visit to Yosemite Valley was during the winter of 2004 so I’m looking forward to getting in some of the classic landscapes and maybe a few surprises. It’s been way too long.

YES, that’s awesome man! Where can I pick up a copy?
August 22nd, 2011 @ 12:57 pm
Thanks guys. Owens River is a fun place to shoot for sure.
Brandon – you can probably pick up a copy from any Barnes & Noble travel magazine section in Northern California. You can also go to their website and ask for one.

nice!! Congrats. Did you shoot that with print media in mind? Looks like it was made for a magazine cover with that empty space on top.

Congrats on the cover. The lighting looks nice on those mountains.
Have a great time in Yosemite. I just made my first visit there in May and had a blast.

Beautiful, Richard! Congratulations on your cover photo. Yosemite in the fall is spectacular. I’m looking forward to seeing the images you capture.

Thanks guys. I sure hope Yosemite looks good in the fall and has some water. I went there in fall once when I was a kid but remember it being really dry and not particularly pretty perhaps because there was also a big forest fire going on.
Ben – good question. Though it did work out that way so they could crop the image, I didn’t intentionally leave extra space at the top. The way I tend to shoot though does lend itself to that since I like to have some breathing room in my landscapes.
