Southern California Fires

Brea Canyon Fire, Southern California Brea Canyon Fire, Southern California

The past two days have proven to be very challenging for many in Southern California due to several large wildfires near urban areas. Today, the 57, 91, 71, 405, 5, and 210 freeways were all shut down at certain times due to smoke and fire. On the 57 freeway (foreground), not too far from where I live, there were flames that flew across the freeway from one hillside to another.

I saw images of this wildfire a few days back and read news article saying a lot of people lot their homes in this fire. I hope everything ok with you…Thomas

It’s hard to believe Southern California is on fire. Up here in Northern California, we got over 3″ of rain from that last storm.

Now, our ground is saturated, green grass is springing up everywhere and we are enjoying 70-80 degree temps. It’s been awesome. I sure hope you get some rain down there very soon!

Thanks guys. I am okay personally but I was just down there and talking to a guy who lived a mile from where the flames were coming toward the freeway. He was understandably nervous but upbeat somehow.

Thanks Bernie. You know that is probably a pretty accurate analogy particularly for those who were in the line of fire.
