Steer Wrestling
Posted on | March 29, 2011 | 6 Comments
It’s kind of hard to appreciate how intense these rodeo events are until you are standing next to the action. I was standing next to the gate during the steer wrestling part and the horses would sprint out blowing right past my camera. In hindsight I probably should have brought a backup camera so I could have had a wide angle lens as well.
See more of my rodeo pictures.

Just never stand behind the gate where they release the bulls for the bull riding events. They start bucking and stuff starts flying…
You caught the action very well.

Thanks for the tip Sharon. That is really good to know.

Great shots Richard…I thought shooting high school sports was bad, you could get seriously hammered by one of those runaway trains !!

Thanks Bernie. You definitely can get hit if you aren’t paying attention. Perhaps a successful rodeo shoot is one where you make it out unscathed and without manure all over you.
