Victoria Beach Tower

Castle Turret at Victoria Beach, Laguna Beach, California
Looking at a web cam at home I had a hunch that there would be amazing conditions last night for coastal photography so I drove through a heavy downpour on the 57 freeway in order to photograph this scene at Laguna Beach. Photographing the Victoria Beach tower had been on my to-do list for several years now so I’m glad to have gone out there. I think this scene has been painted frequently by local artists so I guess this could be considered an icon by Laguna Beach standards.
This photo will eventually be added to a gallery on my website along with my other Orange County pictures.

Love the power of the wave action in this, the tower adds a great touch to this scene, it has a cool mid evil feel to it !!

Thanks Bernie. I experienced the power of the waves first hand. More on that in the next post.

I tried photographing it this past Sunday but the tide was too high…I’m going to try again this Sunday…Any tips?
January 19th, 2010 @ 6:15 pm
Hi Emily. You will have to go there during a minus tide otherwise the beach will probably be under water. I would check the tide charts and know when to go there and be sure you are out of there by the time it rises again.
