Travel and food are my two of my favorite things so naturally I can’t resist photographing interesting food whenever I’m out and about. I’m not just interested in shooting food photos for the sake of food photos though. Good restaurants and food have character, and a story.
The first time I ever tried an oyster was while traveling with Backroads several years ago. I was scared initially but it turned out ok. I really got into oysters several weeks later during Samantha’s birthday at the Farallon when we ordered several raw oysters. Fast-forward to this weekend, when we made an excursion out to the Hog Island Oyster Farm in Tomales Bay. It was a perfect day outside. One order of smoked trout salad, one order of charcuterie, a dozen raw oysters, and four orders of bbq oysters later we called it a day. I highly recommend visiting Hog Island Oyster Farm at least once if you even have the slightest interest in oysters. It’s a great experience!
