Located in the northernmost reaches of the San Francisco Bay Area, California Wine Country encompasses the world-renowned Napa Valley and Sonoma County. While many associate wine country with specific appellations, the region contains numerous distinct American Viticultural Areas (AVAs) including Dry Creek Valley AVA, Russian River Valley AVA, Alexander Valley AVA, Knights Valley AVA, and the legendary Stag's Leap District AVA—the region that put Wine Country on the international map during the 1976 Judgment of Paris wine tasting.
My Journey Through Wine Country Photography
I've been exploring and photographing this remarkable region since 2012, when I first proposed to my now-wife among the rolling vineyards and historic estates. From those early explorations of Oxbow Public Market and the Rhine House at Beringer Vineyards to my current work as a FAA-certified drone pilot capturing aerial perspectives, my connection to Wine Country runs deep. Since relocating to the Bay Area in 2013, I've returned multiple times each year, building an extensive collection that documents the changing seasons, light, and character of both Napa Valley and Sonoma County.
