A
third-generation, Chinese-American with California roots dating back to
the 1800's railroad building-era, Richard grew up in Southern
California. A two week family vacation to the Canadian Rockies when he
was six shaped his life forever. His childhood thirst for the outdoors
and travel was further fueled by trips to the California Coast, Zion
NP, Washington D.C., Gettysburg, and various other destinations.
Eventually as a college student in the late 90's, it occured to Richard
that it might be fun to take up photography.
Richard has subsequently
traveled through most regions of the country, moved around the country a few times,
and has been published in magazines,
newspapers,
brochures, travel guides, textbooks and calendars. He licenses his
photography through several
rights-managed photo agencies and
also through this website in addition to selling fine art prints.
Photography plans for 2008 include: The Northern California
Redwood Coast, California Gold Country, Yosemite Valley,
Arizona
Navajo Nation, and New Mexico (Santa Fe, Taos, and pueblos).
