Baie-Saint-Paul is a charming small town nestled on the northern shore of the majestic Saint Lawrence River in the scenic province of Quebec, Canada. With its rich history, picturesque landscapes, and cultural vibrancy, Baie-Saint-Paul is truly a hidden gem waiting to be discovered.
Situated in the renowned Charlevoix region, Baie-Saint-Paul boasts a unique geographical location, characterized by rolling hills, lush valleys, and breathtaking views of the river. This idyllic setting serves as a playground for outdoor enthusiasts, offering various activities such as hiking, skiing, and even whale watching.
Not only does Baie-Saint-Paul captivate visitors with its natural beauty, but it also exudes an artistic spirit. Recognized as the birthplace of the internationally acclaimed Cirque du Soleil, this town has fostered a thriving arts scene with numerous galleries, workshops, and exhibitions showcasing the talent of local artisans and craftsmen.
About an hour north of Quebec City, the charming main street features a number of art galleries featuring local Québécois artists. I spent a week exploring the Quebec province and Baie-Saint-Paul was by-far my favorite location that I visited on this trip. Baie-Saint-Paul is also the county seat of Charlevoix County.
