New Mexico State Capitol, Santa Fe, New Mexico

The NM State Capitol building, located in Santa Fe, showcases a unique architectural style and design elements that make it a noteworthy landmark in the state. The Capitol building, which was completed in 1966, was designed by W.C. Kruger and Associates. It follows a modernist architectural style, with clean lines and minimalist features. The state capitol is the only round state capitol in the U.S. The building was designed to resemble the Zia sun symbol when viewed from above, with four entrance wings that protrude from the main cylindrical volume. Architecturally, the Capitol is a blend of New Mexico Territorial Revival style and neoclassical influences.

One of the notable design elements of the Capitol building is its circular shape, symbolizing inclusiveness and equality. The circular design also allows for a more efficient flow of movement and communication between different offices and chambers. The Capitol building is also known for its striking façade, which is made of white Georgia marble. This choice of material not only adds to the building's aesthetic appeal but also reflects the natural beauty of the New Mexico landscape.

Over the years, the Capitol building has undergone several renovations and additions to meet evolving needs and improve its functionality. One significant renovation took place in the early 1990s when the Capitol Annex was added to the original building. This expansion provided additional office space for legislators and staff, ensuring smooth operations within the Capitol.

Another notable addition to the Capitol building is the Roundhouse Rotunda. The Rotunda serves as a gathering space for events, exhibitions, and public hearings. Its architectural design features a soaring glass ceiling, allowing natural light to flood the space and creating a sense of openness.

Museum-Quality: TruLife® Acrylic Face Mount Print - Ready To Hang

Museum-Quality: TruLife® Acrylic Face Mount Print - Ready To Hang

The most luxurious of fine art prints, TruLife® Acrylic face mount prints have a 3d-like appearance due to the print being sandwiched between museum-quality acrylic and a solid backer medium. The paper is specifically made for face mounted prints and features a pearl-like luminescence. When light hits the acrylic, it refracts through the artwork and gives off an appearance of having been illuminated from within. These are the most vibrant and detailed prints I offer. Acrylic prints are best suited for hanging in homes.
