Timeline of Pierce Ranch (Pierce Point Ranch)

1856: Part of the ranch's main house was constructed, making it the oldest surviving ranch house in the Point Reyes region, if not the entire coastal section of Marin County.

1858: The Shafter brothers sold a 2,200-acre tract of land at the end of Tomales Point to Solomon Pierce for $7,000. Pierce Ranch (also known as Pierce Point Ranch) was established and became the largest of four independent ranches on the Point Reyes peninsula.

Late 1800s: Pierce Ranch excelled in producing the finest quality butter. Goldberg, Bowen, and Company, a famous San Francisco fine food purveyor, purchased the entire butter production from the ranch during this period. By 1900, the Point Reyes region ranches were considered the best among California's 300 dairy ranches, with Pierce Ranch leading in product quality.

1878 & 1880: Pierce Ranch was recognized as an outstanding example of a dairy ranch in publications from these years.

1973: Pierce Ranch ceased operations as a dairy farm.

1980: The National Park Service began rehabilitating the ranch core, citing it as the best example of an 1800s West Marin dairy ranch.

1985: Pierce Ranch was added to the National Register of Historic Places. The ranch was subsequently opened to the public as an interpretive site, showcasing the highest degree of integrity of early buildings in its physical complex among the ranches of the Point Reyes peninsula and nearby Olema Valley. Pierce Ranch remains the least altered and least modernized physical complex of ranch buildings in the area.

Museum-Quality: TruLife® Acrylic Face Mount Print - Ready To Hang

Museum-Quality: TruLife® Acrylic Face Mount Print - Ready To Hang

The most luxurious of fine art prints, TruLife® Acrylic face mount prints have a 3d-like appearance due to the print being sandwiched between museum-quality acrylic and a solid backer medium. The paper is specifically made for face mounted prints and features a pearl-like luminescence. When light hits the acrylic, it refracts through the artwork and gives off an appearance of having been illuminated from within. These are the most vibrant and detailed prints I offer. Acrylic prints are best suited for hanging in homes.
