The Upper Geyser Basin is home to the largest concentration of geysers in the world, including Old Faithful, which is one of the most famous and predictable geysers in the park. The area is also home to other notable geysers such as Castle Geyser, Grotto Geyser, and Riverside Geyser. The basin covers an area of approximately two square miles and is characterized by its colorful thermal features, including hot springs, fumaroles, and mud pots. The area is also home to a variety of wildlife, including bison, elk, and bears. Visitors can take boardwalk trails to view the geysers and thermal features, and ranger-led tours are also available.
While on family vacation in Yellowstone, I went back out for sunset after dinner while my family retreated back to a comfortable bed at Old Faithful Inn. It started to rain right around sunset when I noticed color about the burst out of the dreary sky. I managed to get a few photos before the light faded while wiping the rain drops off of my lens.
